Money, sweet, sweet money!

So yesterday we did this very cool FUNdraiser [see what I did there] where we sold baked goods and snacks at two schools and made over $200! So we aren't going to do the raffle we planed on but we still are thinking of doing something a long the lines of a 50/50 raffle which means that the winner gets half the profits and the other half goes to our cause, so, us.  We're going to need funds if we want to do anything so that's one of our main focuses right now, that and driving practice on the 'bot.

L.A.

The L.A. tournament was interesting to watch, it was the first time I've been to an FTC tournament in a non competition role, and well to be blunt, it was surprisingly exciting to just watch, and it was a lot less stressful, I saw a lot of interesting designs and now that I've seen them in action, I'm pretty happy with Frankie.  One thing I noticed about a lot of teams was that they kept flipping over, which we need to make sure not to do.  We also need armour plates.

Well the wonderful tech in the Samantha Module doesn't exactly work how it's supposed to, while the Bluetooth connection we used to use wasn't the best, we had huge trouble in actually getting the new module to connect. We went on all sorts of forums and then called several companies associated with the Samantha Module, one of which called us back and thought we where a multi-million dollar company, which we aren't, finally what got us to be able to connect to the module was using the least secure option of how to connect we could, of course this is not a viable option at a tournament.  We aren't quite sure how we're going to get around the problems we have faced with the new connecting system at a tournament but we'll think of something.  On another note we aren't going to the LA competition in an actual competitive role but we'll still be there physically so maybe we'll see some of the readers there!

(#o.o)

The tournament is on the 11th and it looks like we're going, we have our robot basically DONE but we still need to tweek the arm, shouldn't be too hard though.  We need to work on quite a bit of programming but it shouldn't be too hard, all in all I like the way this is going and it looks like we can get everything done in time for competition which we will.  This Sunday we will be presenting our new and old bots to a large group of cub scout in S.D. and it'll be a lot of them so that'll be a sick opportunity for some public outreach, let's hope it goes well.  Also Mr. Fusion needs to give a big shout out to FLL team #3128 Gears & Joints! Y'all kicked butt at the tournament, granted it wasn't very many butts and a couple of times it was on your own team members but you still where radisick!
