Jam-packed Vex Update

It's been a while since the last update on our blog. First off we had our first tournament in September (video coming soon), when we found out that our arm wouldn't work all year and we had to get a new design for the arm, which we are working on currently. Second, we have been recruiting new members for a secondary team of new member to learn and get better and to be put on the main team when they are more experienced. Team 2 have just finished their claw bot and are now learning how to code. That's all for today, and we'll update you on anything new as soon as we can.

R.I.P VEX Cortex

On our last VEX competition something very interesting happened. When we went to our first match our drive was exceptionally slow, then later in the match our whole left drive failed! After the match we found out that it was a cortex failure, and not motor or a motor controller failure. We will have to get a new cortex.

The Dehesa Winter Expo will be on the 25th, from 4:00 to 5:30, with limited sales at lunch same day. We here at Fusion hope you can come to the Expo.

We Have Wheels

A little while back, we had treads, but recently we rethought our choice, and we decided that wheels are better for these reasons:

• Wheels turn faster
• They are more difficult to break
• Easier to work on

These are some of the reasons we don't use treads anymore.

VEX V5 Announced!

VEX Just announced their newest robot brain, the V5. It includes an all-new touch interface for the brain of the robot. It also has new motors with 2x the power, integrated encoders and motor controllers, and an upgraded cooling system with vents and a heat sink to help stop motor overheating. There are other improvements, that you can see in the video below. And oh man is it going to be expensive...
