Robot Progress

The robot is getting more complete by the day! The new parts we ordered aren't here yet, so we have the same six wheels as last time, not the intended half-track, due to not having tread. Our motors in the back have also been reworked to have a pair of integrated encoder modules in the very rear drive motors to help with programming. We also made a removable brain-cage for the robot "brain", including two batteries, the power expander, the aux battery, and, of course, the microcontroller or brain. The cage itself is mounted securely to the base by several bolts that can be removed if needed, but are sturdy enough to remain on the robot during competition. We haven't started on the robot manipulator yet, as we still don't know the challenge for next year. -Zach

The first post by the new VEX Team Fusion's resurrected website! Our competition season is over, but our team is still working hard in order to be more prepared for next year! Our programming team this year made a great program while still learning the basics and our building team managed to redesign the robot a total of four times during the season!

Adam is very close to complete. He now drives around and picks up racquetballs! :D Oh, and his arms are really creepy... However, once the programming is done they should look considerably less wiggly and The Thing-esque. Speaking of programming, I'm currently getting stuff programmed for our scrimmage on Saturday. It's going to be sooo cool!! Hopefully we'll have some pictures from it, so we'll post those after it's done.

YAYAYAYAYAY!!!! <- I'm excited.

Stuff and Things...

Here's a long overdue update on what we've been up to recently:

  • We went to the Holy Cows' FIRST day which was a really cool opportunity to talk to the public and other teams about FIRST, our robot and a bunch of other cool stuff. :)
  •  We've been working on Adam quite a lot, and he's starting to look like a real boy robot. Our deadline for getting him done is November 7th, and we're very optimistic about meeting it!

Overall, I think we're making great progress on the robot and as a team.
